Smoker

How do you plan on cooking your holiday roast this season? Here are a few tips in order to make a great meal in your smoker or grill!Meat smokers are ideal to cook with in order to give your meat unique flavor; however with a few modifications it’s also possible to smoke meat with your grill at home.  Meat smokers are designed to burn meat slowly at a low temperature, so in order to mimic that technique with your backyard grill it is important to build the fire as far away as possible from your meat.It is also important to purchase a meat thermometer, because the temperature at which you cook the meat is more important than the duration of time in which the meat is cooked.  Most meats are smoked between 225°F-250°F and take somewhere between one and a half to three hours.  Larger meals, like a Thanksgiving turkey can take up to six or seven hours to be fully smoked, but almost all meals finish cooking with a temperature between 160 and 175 degrees.
