Lapd Northeast Division

I hate to be the party crasher, but please don’t tell me that the rendering of the new Northeast Station above is supposed to match up with the photo of the existing station below.Because the rendering depicts a structure with a portion of frontage on San Fernando Blvd. having absolutely no setback.That would prevent pedestrians from proceeding along the east side of San Fernando Blvd. and necessitate a signaled crosswalk both North and South of the new station.The lack of setback would also make any future widening of San Fernando Blvd much more costly or simply impossible.Update:During construction,which will begin later this year,the Northeast Division staff will remain in the existing building while the new structure is built on the western edge of the property, said Thom Brennan,Commanding Officer of Facilities Management.The new station is scheduled to be completed by 2015.
